What You’ll Actually Do
As a Registered Nurse with Elite365, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients across various departments, including ICU, ER, Med Surg, Labor & Delivery, OR, and Tele units. Your duties will include:
Patient Care and Nursing Responsibilities
You will play a central role in delivering patient care in a hospital setting. This will involve:
Monitoring patient conditions: You’ll be regularly monitoring patients’ vital signs, observing for changes in their health status, and responding quickly to any signs of deterioration.
Administering medications: You will be responsible for administering prescribed medications to patients and ensuring that all dosages and schedules are followed precisely.
Providing personal care: This includes assisting patients with daily hygiene needs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assisting in medical procedures: Depending on the department you’re placed in, you may be required to assist in procedures such as surgery prep, wound care, or emergency care.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, specialists, and other nurses, to develop and implement individualized care plans. In your role, collaboration will be key to providing the best patient outcomes. This may include:
Contributing to team discussions: Participating in rounds and patient care meetings to ensure all aspects of a patient’s care plan are aligned.
Training and mentoring junior staff: As an experienced nurse, you will be responsible for guiding less experienced nurses, helping them develop their skills and adhere to best practices.
Documentation and Reporting: You will be required to maintain accurate records of patient conditions, treatments, and progress. This includes:

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
Weeks 1-2:
Complete orientation and training programs to familiarize yourself with hospital protocols and the team’s workflow.
Learn about the institution’s policies related to patient care, safety, and infection control.
Shadow experienced nurses and understand the roles, responsibilities, and practices in each department. Start familiarizing yourself with the patient management systems and the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
Weeks 3-6:
Begin taking on patient care responsibilities under supervision. You’ll be gradually entrusted with more complex tasks as your confidence and competence increase. Start assisting with more critical medical procedures and learn from specialists in the department. Attend regular team meetings to familiarize yourself with patient care plans and department operations.
Engage with patients more directly, providing compassionate care and becoming familiar with their needs.
Weeks 7-12:
Begin handling patient care independently, demonstrating proficiency in clinical skills, decision-making, and time management. Start making contributions in team meetings, offering input on patient care, treatment plans, and resource management. Demonstrate your leadership skills by mentoring new nurses or junior staff, guiding them in complex cases. Continue developing your professional skills through ongoing training, focusing on areas like advanced nursing techniques, specialized patient care, and leadership training.
Must-Have Profile
Essential Criteria:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
in Canada or eligibility to become registered. - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital setting, preferably in critical care or specialized units.
- Ability to assess patient conditions accurately and respond to emergencies swiftly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in a team and with patients.
- Fluency in English is a must (additional languages are a bonus).
